![]() The Clallam County Assessor's Office administers a variety of tax relief and exemption programs, such as destroyed property claims, home improvement exemptions, open space/current use classification, and exemption and deferral programs for limited income senior citizens and disabled persons. The assessment roll of Clallam County is maintained by our office, along with lists of ownership, legal and building descriptions, tax code area, location, and the assessed valuation for all taxable property within the county. Each time a parcel of property is sold or divided, or a new plat is filed, the transaction is shown on our records. In addition to the over forty-eight thousand appraisal reports maintained on properties, a detailed series of maps showing all properties within the county are maintained. The Assessor's office is not limited to setting property values alone. Other agencies of state and local government carry on this function. the values determined by the Assessor are estimates of market value. The Assessor does not establish the dollar amount of taxes. Equitable assessments assure property owners that they are paying their fair share of the costs of operating schools and libraries, providing police and fire protection, road construction and maintenance, water, sanitation, and other basic public services. The assessment process plays an important role in local government. We are constantly looking for ways to improve the way we do our job. These values are available for review within the County Appraiser’s office.The Assessor's Department is responsible for the local administration of our state property tax system. GREENWOOD County will implement the agricultural land values as provided by the Division of Property Valuation. The Division of Property Valuation and Kansas State University has established currently agricultural land values. Changes can and do occur as a result of several factors including cropping practices, commodity prices and production costs. 79-1476, the Division of Property Valuation is required to annually furnish each county the results of its study relating to changes, if any, of the use value of agricultural land. In accordance with the provisions in K.S.A. Zoning Board meetings are open to the Public and are generally held every other Tuesday at 7:15 pm in the City Council Chambers. The appeal period extends to thirty days from the mailing date. The Zoning Board is a quasi-jusicial board that is charged with granting or denying variances and special permits pursuant to the City of Quincy Zoning Ordinance.
